Where I've Been + What's Next!

Hey everyone! I hope you had a great week! As you may read in the title above, I have some news.

First stuff is where I've been. If you follow my Twitter, you may know that, I had a surgery because of my broke arm. I spent this past days on that, so that's why I haven't posted for so long.

Now, I have used this days to think a lot about this blog and what I really want to make with it. You know that books are one of the things that I really love, but there are so many other things that I also love that I want to blog about. I love music, food, photography, style, a lot of things. So, that's why I'm taking this blog into another level.

I am switching to Wordpress, and since I'm going to write about more stuff I'm also changing the name of it, so to accomplish all of this, I'm taking a few days -or a week- so I can lauch the new blog as soon as possible.

Thank you so much for supporting this change because it means a lot to me, my Twitter & social media -on the right- are going to be the same so I'm going to be updating there. It would mean the world to me if you followed me in this change.

WE'RE HAVING A SHADOWHUNTERS TV SHOW & I HAVEN'T MADE A POST ABOUT IT AND I'M SO EXCITED FKLJASÑOMG

Okay, we need to take a second to appreciate that we have another chance on our loved shadowhunters because we all know that the movie attempt of City of Bones was an absolute fail.

Shadowhunters is coming soon on ABC family and we have a lot of the characters already! And I have to say THEY'RE PERFECTION.

We need another appreciation second so we can transform into the heart-eyed emoji looking at this cast:

Katherine McNamara as Clary Fray.

Alberto Rosende as Simon Lewis.

Emeraude Toubia as Isabelle Lightwood.

Matthew Daddario as Alec Lightwood.

I absolutely LOVE the casting and even though I'm excited as eff I don't want to get my expectations to high because when I knew the City Of Bones movie was coming, my expectation were high as the Everest, but then, they fell until the center of the Earth.  

The show is being filmed in Canada and would probably will be premiering in 2016.

It's confirmed that the first season is going to have 13 episodes and the pilot could possibly be named The Mortal Cup (FJKLÑSR OMG)

I don't know if this show is going to premiered in Latin America as the same time (I hope so) or if it's even going to come to our TV screens (I. REALLY. HOPE. SO)

#5 Panic by Lauren Oliver.

Personally, I haven't get my hands on Panic yet, but I've heard so many great things about it that I think this would be an awesome film, and I would totally watch it million times -if it's well done-

#4 The Shatter Me Trilogy by Tahereh Mafi.

I'm already into the first book of this trilogy, and by this far I would love to have a film to fangirl on.

#3 Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. 

This book is another one that I haven't read yet but heard a lot of awesome things about it. I think this would be a great movie.

#2 Ripper by Isabel Allende.

I completely love this book, and I would honestly pay someone to make a good movie. 

#1 Looking For Alaska by John Green.

You know that I love Mr. Green work, and I hope that Fox decide to make this one a movie.

Book Review: Looking For Alaska by John Green

Looking For Alaska by John Green (2005)

He heads off to the sometimes crazy, possibly unstable, and anything-but-boring world of Culver Creek Boarding School, and his life becomes the opposite of safe. Because down the hall is Alaska Young. The gorgeous, clever, funny, sexy, self-destructive, screwed-up, and utterly fascinating Alaska Young, who is an event unto herself. She pulls Pudge into her world, launches him into the Great Perhaps, and steals his heart.

After. Nothing is ever the same.

Looking for Alaska is a YA novel written by John Green and was first published in January 2005. This is the first published book by John Green, followed by An Abundance of Katherines and his other works.

I read this book last year, and recently re-read it, because, by this far, you may know that i love his work.

Mr. Green hit me again, in my heart, and a little bit in my pancreas with an explosive plot twist.

I really enjoyed this book, because I think it's a great plot, it's a great reading and a great writing. When I started this book I couldn't put it down, that leading me to finish it by 3 A.M.

By the time I get to the After part, I was so excited to know what was going to happen, until it hit me.

I started panicking, got into 3 minutes of pure shock, then a minute of acceptance and then keep reading it again. Because that's my reaction over a shocking moment.

Even though this book is a pretty good one, I have some mixed feelings about it.

Book Review: James & The Dragon by Theresa Snyder

James & the Dragon by Theresa Snyder (2013)

What would you do if you were adopted by a dragon? But, dragons and boys are not meant to live together – or are they? When Laval – a wizard harboring a secret hatred for Farloft finds out about James, he sees his chance for revenge.

James & the Dragon is the first book in The Farloft Chronicles and was published in June 2013. This book has an awesome audio-book version that you can listen everywhere.

I started listening the audiobook version of this book, and it keep me hanged on it since the begining. {The audio-book version is FREE to download -which is awesome- and you can get it here} seriously, I've listened at least 3 times.

This book has an amazing story, with amazingly created characters; even as a children's book, adults will discover its wonderful fantasy and charm. Theresa Snyder paint a lot of amazing and really vivid images in my mind along my reading -listening-.

This short story -61 pages- tells awesome adventures and you will really want to read all 5 books of The Farloft Chronicles {#1 James & the Dragon; #2 Kingdom of the Last Dragons; #3 Dragon Deception; #4 Too Many Dragons; #5 Three & a Half Dragons} and I'm excited to get into them.

Blogger Things I Suck At! #Freestyle Fridays Saturday

Hey everyone! I decided to make this post because I've been watching some Youtube videos with this theme, but they were called 'Booktube Things I Suck At', and since I'm not on Youtube stuff, I decided to make this 'Blogger Things I Suck At'. 

#1 thing I suck at: Schedule.

This is one of the main things I have issues with. My time is so out of control PLUS I'm lazy as hell. Don't get me wrong, I love my blog, and I love to post on it, but I'm so untidy with my time: I have to go to school, make infinite tons of work for it, write in here & read new books -which are things I love- and have what some people call a life? I need more hours on the day sometimes.

#2 thing I suck at: Good/Different Ideas.

My brain somedays is so dry, that I can't think of good things to write. Sometimes I want to make a really deep, or fun, or special post, but when I get in front of the screen, I'm just in blank.

Like right now, I'm blank. And there's just two things in here.

#3 thing I suck at: Communication.
I'm so bad at this, I feel that after tweeting about my posts, I don't have anything else to say, because I feel that anything else is irrelevant -and I could be 185% wrong.

#4 thing I suck at: Reviewing.
This is the base of my blog, but I feel I suck at it. I usually write the review right after I finished the book, but it's so hard getting my thoughts together and write a perfect review, because all of the time, they don't end the way I wanted to.

That's all that I can think for now! If someday I discover more blogger things I suck at I'm totally going to do a part 2! If you also have a blog or have a booktube channel on Youtube, do this! Would You Rather Book Tag!

Would You Rather...

1. Read only trilogies or stand alones?

For me to read trilogies or long series it's kinda hard. The first book has to really get me hanged on the series so I keep reading the books. Also, a lot of my favorite books are single books, so I choose stand alones.

2. Read only female or male authors?

When I start a new book I don't really care about the author, I just care about the story. I have both male and female authors favorite books, so it's hard for me to choose. But, I'm going with male authors because my favorite books ever are wrote by male authors.

3. Shop at Barnes & Noble or Amazon?

Well, here in Chile, we don't have Barnes & Noble, but it's also hard for me to buy through Amazon because I don't own a credit card yet. So I'm going with book shops like Barnes & Noble.

4. All books become movies or TV shows?

I'm so forgetful with things that it's so hard for me to keep up with TV shows, so I prefer movies than TV shows, so I can watch it without forgetting.

5. Read 5 pages per day or 5 books per week?

If I had enough time I would totally read 5 book per week, but my free time it's so short sometimes that I just have time for -sadly- 5 pages per day.

6. Be a professional reviewer or author?

This is so hard for me! Because I love reviewing books and share with you guys my thoughts, but if I could write really awesome books it would be a dream come true. I just can't choose one!

7. Only read your top 20 favorite books over and over or always read new ones that you haven't read before?

I really like to read new things and get into different genres, but I also adore my favorites and I wouldn't change them.

8. Be a librarian or book seller?

I  think that if I had to choose one of this, would be to become a bookseller, because you can interact a little bit more with other people and getting recommendations from another reader.

9. Only read your favorite genre, or every genre except your favorite?

I would only read my favorite genre, because there's thousand books of the genre that I like that I can discover that way.

10. Only read physical books or eBooks?

I 100% prefer real books, even though I read a lot of eBooks, but you can't compare all of the sensations you get with a real book. Don't tell me you don't love the smell of a new book.

Book Review: Blindness by José Saramago

Blindness - Essay on Blindness by Jose Saramago (1997)

A city is hit by an epidemic of "white blindness" that spares no one. Authorities confine the blind to an empty mental hospital, but there the criminal element holds everyone captive, stealing food rations and assaulting women. There is one eyewitness to this nightmare who guides her charges—among them a boy with no mother, a girl with dark glasses, a dog of tears—through the barren streets, and their procession becomes as uncanny as the surroundings are harrowing. As Blindness reclaims the age-old story of a plague, it evokes the vivid and trembling horrors of the twentieth century, leaving readers with a powerful vision of the human spirit that's bound both by weakness and exhilarating strength.

Blindness or Essay on Blindness is a book written by Jose Saramago and was published in English in October 1997. This book gives you a metaphor on the twentieth century problems in a "white blindness" form.

I'm not going to lie; I read this book for school and I think it was so good that I had to review it. Also, because I had so much work to do for my classes that I couldn't read a new book. 

This book made me just speechless. I really love the concept of it and how Saramago represents the problems that our society lives with this disease that affect some people. We can see how this plague destroys society. This book has some beautiful yet breathtaking quotes, like:

“I don't think we did go blind, I think we are blind, Blind but seeing, Blind people who can see, but do not see.”

“The difficult thing isn't living with other people, it's understanding them.”

“If we cannot live entirely like human beings, at least let us do everything in our power not to live entirely like animals.”

“Perhaps only in a world of the blind will things be what they truly are.”

This book was also made into a movie released in 2008 starring Julianne Moore and Mark Ruffalo, which I haven't watch yet but I'm totally hoping to watch.

To me this book is totally amazing and I 100% recommend it.

Well, my name is Sebastian, you'd probably know that already, but Seba it's shorter. I'm 16 years old. I'm from Chile. I'm in school, in Junior year, I guess, it's two years before college.

My favorite authors are John Green, Suzanne Collins and Isabel Allende. My favorite genres are YA Fiction, Mystery, Action and Romance.

I'm really interested in reading, art, photography, graphic design, blogging and cooking.

Opposites Book Tag!

This is the first book in my collection, I've told you about it before and it's Papelucho by Marcela Paz.

My latest adquisition is Neuromancer by William Gibson. It was published like 22 years ago, and someone told me to read it so I bought it.

A cheap book & An expensive book.

This was one of the cheapest books I've found, I got it today and it was FREE! What's better than a free ebook? This book is Forsaken by Kristen Day, and I'm going to put the link here so you can get it.

This was probably one of the priciests books that i've got by myself -because a lot of my books were given to me as a gift or I buy the horrible quality ones or the ebooks- and it was like 25 USD, maybe it's not much but for a 12 year old kid, it's kind of pricey. This book is The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman.

A book with a male protagonist & A book with a female protagonist.

The book with the male protagonist I chose is Charlie from The Perks Of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

The book with the female protagonist I choose is Tris from Divergent by Veronica Roth.

A book you read quickly & A book that took you long to read.

The book, or I have to say books that I read quickly, is the complete Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins. I read The Hunger Games and Catching Fire in one day, then fell asleep and read Mockingjay.

This book took me what it felt ages. It's Crusade in Jeans by Thea Beckman. This was for a class, and I didn't like it, i think that's why it took me so long.

A pretty cover & An ugly cover.

The book with one of the prettiest covers I've ever seen is Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi. This book looks just so beautiful. I haven't read it yet, but I'm starting the series soon.

One of the book with the ugliest covers that I've seen, would probably be Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins. Thank God the came out with another edition that is way prettier.

A national book & An international book.

For my national book I'm going with the one that I did my first review here! That is Ripper by Isabel Allende.

For my international book, I could have picked anything -because like 85% of my collection are international books- but I choose City of Bones by Cassandra Clare.

A thin book & A thick book.

My thin book for this tag is Grimm's Fairy Tales by the Grimm brothers. This book is 290 pages.

For my thick book I'm going with Les Misérables by Victor Hugo. This book is 959 pages

A fiction book & A non-fiction book.

My fiction book for this is Panic by Lauren Oliver, which I haven't get to read yet, but I'm going soon.

My non-fiction book is Yes Please by Amy Poehler. This book is so. Freaking. Funny. That you have read if you haven't yet.

A romantic book & An action book.

For the romantic book I'm going with Delirium by Lauren Oliver.

For my action book I choose is World War Z by Max Brooks.

A book that made you happy & One that made you sad.

The book that made me happy was Paper Towns by John Green.

The book that made me sad was another by the great John Green. It is Looking For Alaska.

Book Review: The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman

The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman (2007)

After the grisly murder of his entire family, a toddler wanders into a graveyard where the ghosts and other supernatural residents agree to raise him as one of their own.

Nobody Owens, known to his friends as Bod, is a normal boy. He would be completely normal if he didn't live in a sprawling graveyard, being raised and educated by ghosts, with a solitary guardian who belongs to neither the world of the living nor of the dead. There are dangers and adventures in the graveyard for a boy. But if Bod leaves the graveyard, then he will come under attack from the man Jack—who has already killed Bod's family.

The Graveyard Book is a book written by Neil Gaiman and was published in September 2007.

What I love about this book is that Gaiman doesn't waste time on this story, everything is there, at the time that you want it. I first read this book when I was like 12, and I absolutely loved it since then, and I've read it like a million times and I keep loving it every single time.

This book is beautifully written, it really keeps you hanging, the characters are super interesting, it has fascinating adventures, the theme of being raised in a graveyard and being able to see things that we don't get to, it's just so fantastic.

The Emoji Book Tag

For this week tag, I choose The Emoji Book Tag, where I have to choose 5 of my most used emojis, and tell you guys what I use them for and a book that I have to associate with it.

I'm not sure who created this tag originally, but I've seen it in jessethereader, Bookables, Katytastic, PeruseProject & LittleBookOwl's channels. {Check their videos by clicking their names} Let's get started!

1. My first emoji is the laughing emoji:

I use this one when someone tells me something really funny, and I use it instead of writing hahaha or a weird klfghljfgh.

The book I choose to go with this emoji is actually a fan-fiction story that I read on Wattpad, it's called Teach Me and it's author is Vodkachaid. It's. So. Freaking. Funny. But it's in spanish, and the author never finished it, anyway it had me laughing in every single chapter.

2. The second emoji is the pistol emoji:

I use this one when something embarassing happens and I just want to shoot myself in the face. Don't lie, you also have those moments.

The book I choose to go with this emoji is The Perks Of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. It had a lot of those kind of moments.

3. The third is this girl emoji that I don't know how to call:

I use this one when I want to feel cool, like, yeah I did that *hair flip*. I don't know.

The book I choose for this is The Hunger Games series, especially for Katniss, because she is so cool and so rebel that I imagined the "hair flip" moments when she made something against the capitol and the games and they are so shocked. This is for her.

4. My next emoji is the crying emoji:

Book Review: Why We Broke Up by Daniel Handler

Why We Broke Up by Daniel Handler (2011)

"I'm telling you why we broke up, Ed. I'm writing it in this letter, the whole truth of why it happened."

Min Green and Ed Slaterton are breaking up, so Min is writing Ed a letter and giving him a box. Inside the box is why they broke up. Two bottle caps, a movie ticket, a folded note, a box of matches, a protractor, books, a toy truck, a pair of ugly earrings, a comb from a motel room, and every other item collected over the course of a giddy, intimate, heartbreaking relationship. Item after item is illustrated and accounted for, and then the box, like a girlfriend, will be dumped.

Why We Broke Up is a book written by Daniel Handler and was published in December 2011. This book is beautifully illustrated by Maira Kalman with drawings of all the things that Min gave to Ed when they broke up.

This book brings you the typical couple of a smart girl and a sporty-douchebag guy, that she knows he is a womanizer and is recognized in all the school, and he doesn't even know her name; but, with another whole side of the story, we don't get to see how he probably cheated on her and she takes revenge and all that typical situation that most stories have.

I have to say that some of the characters are not my favorite. I started hating Ed since not even the middle of the book, for some reason that I don't know, oh wait, because he is an idiot. I think that he is like those very closed mind guys, so much that he thinks that drinking coffee with milk and sugar is for "girls and faggots", and treats Min very bad, like, are you kidding me? Why are you with him?. Thank God she dumped him.

Overall, this book has a pretty good story and it's something that I have never seen before, but the characters are very important -for me- on how the story gets me.

The Taylor Swift Book Tag!

This is my second tag YAY! I love making these for you guys. This week tag is The Taylor Swift Book Tag. I'm not the biggest fan of Taylor, but I really like her music, and i absolutely love her newest album 1989.

For ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’ pick a book (or book series) that you were pretty sure you were in love with, but then wanted to break up with.

The book series that I chose for this question is Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. I thought that I will going to like, but, I didn't, at all.

For ‘Red’ pick a book with a RED cover.

The book I picked with a red cover is An Abundance Of Katherines by one of my favorite authors John Green.

For ‘The Best Day’ pick a book that makes you feel nostalgic.

The book that makes me feel nostalgic is Francisca, I Love You by José Luis Rosasco, which is a chilean book of a young and tragic, but beautiful love story that I read years ago. {Francisca, Yo Te Amo in spanish, I think there is a bilingual edition, if you find it, I totally recommend it.}

For ‘Love Story’ pick a book with forbidden love.

The book that screams forbidden love to me is City of Bones {and all it's serie} by Cassandra Clare. The love of Jace and Clary it's just so beautiful.

For ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’ pick a book with a bad character you couldn’t help but love.

My character is Travis Maddox from Beautiful Disaster. At the begining he looked kinda douchebag, but then he made me change my mind with all he did for his Pidge.

For ‘Innocent’ pick a book that someone ruined the ending for.

Maybe I mention this in my last tag, but a lot of people ruined the end of Allegiant by Veronica Roth, so this is the book I choose for this question.

For ‘Everything Has Changed’ pick a character from a book who goes through extensive character development.

My character for this one, is the one and only Tris Prior by the Divergent Series. She changed so much through the books, emotionally and physically.

For ‘You Belong With Me’ pick your most anticipated book release.

My most anticipated thing to release it's not a book, but, it's a movie from a book, and it is Paper Towns! I'm so excited for the movie to come out!

For ‘Forever and Always’  pick your favourite book couple.

The couple that I loved since I read the book is Hazel Grace Lancaster and Augustus Waters. Even though they broke my heart in a milion pieces they're my favorite.

For ‘Come Back, Be Here’ pick the book you would least like to lend out, for fear of missing it too much.

This book for me is all of The Hunger Games Series, if I had to lend them, I wouldn't.

My Easter Weekend!

For this Sunday Monday post -like I said yesterday on Saturday- it's not a book review, but I didn't want to leave you guys without another post, so this is a post about a road trip I went for Easter Weekend!, so I'm sharing with you some of the photos i took during it.

I  took some of these beautiful pictures while we were on the road.

Then, I got these photos when we arrived at the place that we were staying in. This place is called Duao, here in Chile. This three photos following are in the exact same place, on one side of the street you got this hill view, and on the other side you got the view of the ocean.

This was the view from the window of the cabin I stayed.

And finally, these are some Instagram photos that I couldn't upload while I was there because my data sucked, but I decided to put them in this post ;)

This was on a stop at a gas station we did yesterday at like, 11 pm. 

This was the traffic which we were stucked -which in this picture was little bit more faster- and I took it at like 12 am. 

Consider that we left the beach at like 4:30 pm, yes, the traffic was that horrible.

Sorry if this post was a little bit short but I wanted to share some of my trip with you.
